Module 1: Your Responsibilities for Food Hygiene and Safety
This module details your responsibilities and the necessary actions to ensure compliance with food safety regulations. It covers the purpose of food safety management systems, including HACCP, as well as the role of Environmental Health Officers.
Module 2: Food Safety Hazards
This module identifies and explains the four categories of food safety hazards: microbials, allergens, physical contaminants, and chemicals. It also covers cross-contamination, providing guidance on how to prevent and control these risks to ensure safe food handling practices.
Module 3: Food Storage.
The “Recognising the Symptoms of Allergic Reactions” training course teaches individuals to identify and respond to allergic reactions, which can range from mild to life-threatening. Participants will learn to recognize common symptoms such as hives, itching, swelling, stomach cramps, diarrhea, and shortness of breath, as well as more severe symptoms like anaphylaxis, including constricted airways, rapid heartbeat, and loss of consciousness.
Module 4: Cleaning and Personal Hygiene
This module emphasizes the importance of effective cleaning and personal hygiene practices in ensuring food safety and preventing cross-contamination, covering aspects such as pest control and waste management.
Final Examination
Examination, once completed if you have been successful then you have achieved a Lvl one in Food Allergen awareness and a certificate will be sent out by post, this can take up to 2 week to receive. If you have failed don’t worry as you can retake the course as many time as neccesary.
