Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (CPD)

Most workplace accidents aren’t freak events. They’re ordinary things left unfixed: the spill nobody mopped, the guard someone took off, the box lifted the wrong way. This course gives you the working knowledge of health and safety law in Great Britain to spot those things and put them right, written for anyone at work and built around the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, its supporting regulations and HSE guidance.

Whether you started a job last week or you’ve been at it for years, the basics of working safely are the same, and they hold just as true in an office as in a warehouse, on a building site or in a care home. This course covers them properly, in plain English, without burying you in jargon.

Who it’s for

The essentials for people in almost any kind of workplace:

• Office, shop, warehouse and factory staff
• Care, hospitality and construction support roles
• New starters, supervisors and team leaders alike
• Anyone with duties like risk assessment, manual handling or fire marshalling
• No previous training needed, and it’s an ideal step before supervisory health and safety training

What you’ll come away able to do

• Name the main health and safety laws, and the duties employers and employees each carry
• Run and read a risk assessment, and apply the hierarchy of control
• Handle the common hazards: slips and trips, working at height, vehicles and the working environment
• Lift and move loads safely, and protect your back and joints
• Work safely with hazardous substances under COSHH
• Deal with fire safety, extinguishers and evacuation
• Use PPE, display screen equipment and work equipment safely
• Respond to accidents and first aid, report under RIDDOR, and support wellbeing

How the course works

Eight lessons, each split into short topics with a quick practice game to make the ideas stick. Every lesson ends with a 10-question assessment pulled at random from a bigger bank, so no two attempts are alike (80% to pass, three goes at each). At the end comes a final exam: 20 questions drawn from a pool of 40 that spans the whole syllabus. Your progress is saved at every step, and the moment you finish, your CPD accredited certificate, carrying your name, the course title and a verifiable reference code, is issued on the spot and saved to My Account → Certificates.
