Why you need it
Employers must train their staff
The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 says employers must give the information, instruction, training and supervision needed to keep people safe at work.
Each risk has its own rules
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 require employers to avoid, assess and reduce lifting risks; the COSHH Regulations 2002 require information, instruction and training on hazardous substances; and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England and Wales) requires fire safety training.
First aid awareness
Staff learn what to do until help arrives. This is awareness training: it does not qualify someone as a workplace first aider.

Every course is online and self-paced, with 12 months' access, a final assessment and a certificate in the person's name that anyone can check online. Certificates are issued in English.
