School & Nursery Kitchen

Food safety, allergies in children, safeguarding and infection control, for the kitchen team in a school or nursery.

Why you need it

  • Early years settings must train food handlers

In England, the Early Years Foundation Stage framework says that in group settings all staff involved in preparing and handling food must receive training in food hygiene.

  • Allergies in children need a plan

The allergy course is written for schools and early years. It covers Benedict's Law, spotting a reaction, using an adrenaline auto-injector and keeping allergens out of a child's food.

  • Everyone in a school has a safeguarding role

Kitchen staff see children every day. Keeping Children Safe in Education (in England) says all staff should have safeguarding training, and infection control keeps illness from spreading.

What's in it

£46 if bought separately · you save £11 £35 for one person

Every course is online and self-paced, with 12 months' access, a final assessment and a certificate in the person's name that anyone can check online. Certificates are issued in English.

For yourself

Buy it with a personal account and you're enrolled on every course straight away. Start any of them from My Courses, in any order.

For your team

Buy one per person with a business account. Each course arrives as seats on your Team page; give a seat to each member of staff, including people without an email address.

Training 6 or more people?

Team membership gives every course to up to 10 staff for £199 a year, which costs less than 6 of these bundles.

Training helps your team do the job safely. It can't guarantee a food hygiene rating: only the council gives the rating.
