Description

Thorough food allergy awareness for anyone who prepares, handles or serves food in the UK. Six lessons take you through the science of allergies, intolerances and coeliac disease; the 14 major allergens the law requires you to declare, and the everyday foods they hide in; Natasha’s Law, PPDS and the labelling rules; supplier checks, allergen matrices and getting front-of-house communication right; how to prevent allergenic cross-contact; and how to recognise anaphylaxis and respond, including the use of an adrenaline auto-injector. Assessments are randomised, the final exam draws 20 questions from a bank of 40, and a personalised CPD-standard certificate is issued the moment you pass. Note: this awareness course supports but does not replace your business’s own written allergen procedures or food safety management system where these are required.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an accredited food allergy qualification?

This is a CPD-standard food allergy awareness course. It is ideal evidence of allergen training for staff files, EHO inspections and due diligence, but it is not a regulated Ofqual qualification. On passing you receive a personalised, verifiable CPD-standard certificate.

Does the course cover Natasha's Law and the 14 allergens?

Yes. It covers all 14 legally declarable allergens, Natasha's Law (PPDS) labelling, prepacked versus non-prepacked rules, allergen matrices, and how to communicate allergen information accurately.

Who should take Level 2 Food Allergy Awareness?

Chefs, kitchen and front-of-house staff, food retail and takeaway workers, childminders, and managers responsible for allergen management — anyone who prepares, handles or serves food in the UK.

How long does it take and how is it assessed?

Around two hours at your own pace. Each of the three modules ends with a randomised assessment, and the course finishes with a final exam of 20 questions drawn at random from a pool of 40. The pass mark is 80%.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. When you pass, your personalised CPD-standard certificate — with your name, the course title and a verifiable reference code — is issued instantly and saved to your account for download.
