Eight lessons in around three hours cover the law, bacteria, contamination and allergens, personal hygiene, temperature control, storage, cleaning and HACCP, with randomised assessments, a 20-from-40 final exam and an instant, verifiable certificate.

Across eight lessons you cover food safety law and enforcement, the bacteria behind food poisoning, contamination, cross-contamination and the 14 allergens, personal hygiene and fitness to work, temperature control for cooking, chilling, hot-holding and reheating, safe storage and stock rotation, cleaning and waste, and pest control and HACCP-based food safety management. It is written to Level 2 standard and built around UK food law and FSA guidance. Pass the assessments and your personalised CPD-standard certificate is issued the moment you finish.

Is a Level 2 food hygiene certificate legally required?

UK law requires food handlers to be trained and supervised to a level appropriate to their work. A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate is the widely accepted way to evidence that for anyone handling open food.

Is this course recognised by Environmental Health Officers (EHOs)?

Yes. The course is written to Level 2 standard and aligned to FSA guidance; your certificate can be shown to an employer or EHO as proof of training and supports your food hygiene rating.

How long does the Level 2 course take?

How long is the certificate valid for?

There is no fixed legal expiry, but the FSA and industry good practice recommend refreshing food safety training every 3 years.
